Beautiful Ghanaian Traditional Wedding at Leonard's Palazzo | Great Neck, New York

Updated: Oct 10, 2021

On a hot summer day in June of 2021, two amazing souls were united. Family and friends from all over flew and drove to be a part of this joyous occasion. Kennedy & Baaba's wedding ceremony took place outdoors under the sun with a stunning backdrop for their rich cultural Ghanaian traditional wedding. The afternoon followed with the White Wedding seen most times in the states.

Baaba and Kennedy began planning their wedding day Pre-Covid 19. Due to safety and restrictions, the couple decided to postpone from 2020 to 2021. The highlight of this postponement was that it allowed more time to execute and plan the day of their dreams.

The Ceremony

The bride's family were seated first on the right as the host and the grooms on the left. Leonard's Palazzo served as the surrogate to the home of the brides' parents. Kennedy's family was greeted and welcomed by two L Prestigious Events team members. Their Kente headwraps matched the style of the bridesmaids' fans. The two families would shortly be joined together as one

The linguist representatives from both sides engaged in banter (playful, fun and friendly teasing remarks). Kennedy's family, along with his groomsmen, danced in with gifts presented to the bride and family. Next, the bridesmaids blessed the aisle in dance with contagious smiles. It was now time for our bride Baaba to dance in following her Adowa dancer. Guests witnessed her loving entrance towards her love, Kennedy.

As you can see, the Ghanaian tradition was represented proudly by the bride and her bridesmaids. The jewelry and accessories made Baaba look of royalty, perfection.

Mirror, mirror

Can anyone say fit for a king? Our groom nailed his traditional custom Kente with the help of his stylish groomsmen. These gentlemen were the life of the reception full of joy and laughter. A perfect recipe for a memorable wedding day.

Reception

When the military meets Ghanian Royalty, sparks go off. This was true of Kennedy and Baaba as they took their first dance. At the white wedding, the dancing on the cloud floor made for a fairytale. The crystal decor and white florals made for an eye-catching backdrop.

Our Royal couple selected the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. Leonard's was also featured as one of our 7 Favorite New York Wedding Venues. Click here: link
